We will sit down with you to discuss your needs and your budget. We’ll find out your priorities for your home and which features you consider essential. We’ll talk about the general design of your home, including energy conservation strategies and other eco-friendly options.
This is the time to consider how best to situate the home on the site and take advantage of views, the path of the sun and other important considerations. We’ll consider the landscaping, too. We will survey your home site and do any testing or consultations necessary to address the specifics of building on the site.
Our “Design Expert” will help you design your home and develop plans according to your wants and needs and help in selecting materials for building and finishing. If you already have plans we will go over the plans together to make sure they address your specific needs and that they work with your site.
Now is the time for a final budget review and securing a construction loan. You’ll have a chance to review costs and reconsider your priorities, if necessary.
We will meet to hammer out a construction schedule. We will apply for the necessary construction permits.
The home site will be cleared, graded and excavated in preparation for building to start.
We start with the foundation, and then move on to framing, roofing, windows and doors to keep out the elements as soon as possible. Selections for interior materials should be complete.
Next come the systems that make your home smart and energy wise. We’ll install the heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical systems you’ve chosen to save money and help conserve energy. Before the interior work is started, we will make sure things are done to your specifications and that the systems and structure are fully inspected.
Now you will really start to see the character of your new home as the rooms take shape.
Walls will be painted and tiled, cabinets and countertops will go in and flooring will be laid. Energy-efficient light fixtures and other details of your home’s interior will be carefully installed.
Any exterior finishing and landscaping will be completed.
We will walk you through your new home to make sure everything has been done to your satisfaction, and we’ll give you a tutorial on how to operate all of your home’s mechanical and technical systems.
This marks the end of the building process, but not the end of our concern for you and your home. We will continue to be available to you for any questions you may have as you start enjoying your dream home.
